First Grade Warm/Cool Colored Landscapes

December 16, 2010

First grade created these fabulous landscapes with India Ink, straws, and watercolor paints.  We also learned about warm and cool colors!  We used the ink and straws to create the tree trunks.  A wet on wet water paint technique was used with warm colors make the leaves and ground.  The next class was spent adding cool colors to the sky!  Pretty amazing!

These are beautiful! I couldn’t believe 1st graders created these! I just graduated with my art education degree and I am looking for lessons to add to my repertoire. I would love a copy of your lesson plan if you are willing to part with it. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing.

Welcome to the world of Art Education! I am more then willing to share, that is what this blog is all about. I wish I could take full credit for this lesson, but I believe I found it somewhere during my searches when I first started out.
